[ IN THE KITCHEN | Slow Cooker Jambalaya ]

Happy New Year my pretties!  I know, I know, I'm uber-late but you all know my motto:  Better late than never. =]
Yesterday was, by far, the coldest day we've had in New York so I decided to make something with enough "heat" to keep us warm.  I made this recipe in the slow cooker, and the only modification I used was turkey sausage (cooked), 2 tsp. of cayenne pepper, and served it over brown rice.  It was a little soupy -- as most of the reviewers noted -- so next time, I'll drain the tomatoes and/or half the broth.  When it was done, we still felt that it was missing something so I added a little tomato sauce and VIOLA!  It was deeeelicious!  You know your food is good when folks ask for seconds, which just happen to be as big as their firsts.  Haha
